Through our Internships, Licensing, and Work Permit Program, we are committed to helping educated refugees transition from the classroom to the workforce by providing them with the resources, support, and connections needed to secure employment and professional growth.
This program is designed specifically for refugees who have acquired educational qualifications but face barriers when it comes to gaining practical experience, securing work permits, and obtaining the necessary professional licenses. By addressing these challenges, we empower educated refugees to integrate into the labor market, contribute their skills and knowledge, and build fulfilling careers.
Internship Opportunities: Internships are a vital part of career development, allowing individuals to gain hands-on experience, build professional networks, and enhance their resumes. Our program partners with local businesses, NGOs, and organizations to offer tailored internship placements for refugees, giving them the opportunity to gain practical experience in their chosen fields. These internships also serve as stepping stones for future full-time employment, providing refugees with valuable work exposure and a platform to demonstrate their capabilities.

Through this initiative, we not only invest in education but also in the future of the communities we serve, helping create a more inclusive, innovative, and equitable world
By bridging the education gap and providing access to essential skills, we are fostering a community of innovators who will drive change, inspire others, and create lasting solutions that positively impact their communities and the world.
The Urban Refugees (Kampala) Secondary School Scholarship Programme is an initiative by Auspicious Futures Initiative designed to provide educational opportunities to refugee youth in Kampala who face financial barriers to accessing secondary education. We believe that education is a fundamental right and a powerful tool for empowerment and change.
Under the UNHCR mandate, support for refugees has traditionally been concentrated within refugee settlements, where basic services, including education, are provided. However, in recent years, due conflicts in Sudan, South Sudan, Syria, and several other countries in the horn of Africa, there has a been a surge in numbers of refugees live outside these settlements in urban areas like Kampala. These urban refugees are often excluded from the critical services available within settlements, even though they are vulnerable and in need of support. The UNHCR's settlement-based approach leaves many urban refugees underserved, as it assumes they have income-generating opportunities that allow them to support themselves.
The Urban Refugees (Kampala) Secondary School Scholarship Programme seeks to address this gap by providing access to secondary education for refugee students who live in urban settings but face significant challenges in accessing quality education. This scholarship programme is designed to support bright and motivated refugee youth in Kampala who are often left out of broader humanitarian support mechanisms. By offering financial assistance for school fees, uniforms, and essential supplies, we help these young individuals overcome the barriers of displacement, financial hardship, and limited access to services.
Our goal is not only to provide access to education but also to nurture the next generation of leaders, advocates, and change-makers who will contribute to a better future for their communities and the world at large. Through this programme, we are empowering refugee youth in Kampala with the knowledge, skills, and confidence they need to create a brighter future for themselves and their families, despite the challenges they face living outside the settlement structures.
At Auspicious Futures Initiative, we believe that every young person, regardless of their circumstances, has the right to access quality education and the opportunity to build a better future. This is especially true for refugee adolescent mothers , who often face significant barriers to continuing their education due to societal stigma, financial constraints, and lack of support.
The Adolescent Mothers’ Education Programme is designed to provide these young women with the resources, mentorship, and support they need to resume or continue their education, empowering them to break free from the cycle of poverty and limited opportunities. We recognize that adolescent mothers are some of the most marginalized members of refugee community, and that by investing in their education, we can help create lasting change not only for them, but also for their families and communities.
Through this programme, Auspicious Futures Initiative offers scholarships, tutoring, and access to educational materials, as well as counselling and childcare services, ensuring that young mothers can pursue their academic goals while managing the responsibilities of motherhood. We also work to raise awareness and advocate for policies that support adolescent mothers' right to education, helping to challenge the barriers that prevent them from achieving their full potential.
By securing refugee adolescent mothers' right to education, we are helping to create a brighter, more equitable future for all, where young women are empowered to shape their own destinies and make meaningful contributions to their communities.
